Okay, this isn't really a film, but... it's hilarious and I saw it at a film screening, so ya know...

Enjoy!

Challenge 1: January - A Short Film a Day #18

I struggled to find a film late last night, and after several Vimeo links that weren't really films, or several that were too long for my sleepy 11 p.m. brain, I decided this one is worth sharing for it's sheer cinematographic achievement. Hello long follow. Well done!

I saw this a few years ago and completely forgot until I accidentally found it while looking to see what else Matty O'Connor has directed. Hes showed an awesome film at The Emerging Filmmakers Project last night, and I wanted to see more. So here's this that I saw a while back:

... and here's the trailer for that which I saw last night:

Neato speedo... er something.

This a film by DIY Film Studios for the 100 hour film race. The way this was filmed as one continuous reflection shot is great. I think the special effects are pretty fabulous too. It's definitely a big effort for 100 hours.

Another interesting Vimeo find. It gets a bit silly near the end, but overall it's fun enough to watch. I mean, how could I resist something titled, "The Man Who Lived on His Bike."

I was just browsing reddit's ShortFilm reddit, and clicked on this one. "Very short piece about a man, his job, and ragtime music" appealed to me, I guess. I love the silhouette look, though I'm still not sure what this fellow's "job" is.

Yesterday, I watchd a film by Jacque Abplanalp that I'd never seen. It was from a Mocksides Script. I thought it was really well executed and fun to watch. The actresses did a great job, and I was actually wanting to know what was going to happen next. Way to go Jacque and gang! :)

Challenge 1: January - A Short Film a Day #12

I'm fascinated with the idea of a 1-2 minute film, so I Googled "1 minute film." I found this site, and watched almost all of the entries, but... I can't say there's one that I really loved more or less than any other one. It's an interesting idea, though... I might pursue it someday.

I guess, as I think about adding at least one video to this entry, that this might be the one that stood out.Maybe...

Well, this was interesting. I honestly just searched for Colorado on Vimeo and found this recent short that features the lead actor from "Misplaced Magic." The cinematography sure is beautiful.
